To Support your 11 months of service, your benefits include:

Stipend

City Year provides a living stipend to all AmeriCorps members for their term of service. Chicago bi-weekly living stipend: $890 pre-tax

Relocation & Transitional Housing

If you are relocating 50+ miles you will qualify for 2 benefits to support your move. Relocation assistance is a $500 taxable one-time payment to offset relocation costs. Learn more about this HERE

Health Insurance:

You will be able to opt-in to City Year coverage during your first week of service for the following:

City Year Uniform

City Year provides you with all the tops (shirts, jackets, vests, sweaters, long sleeves, polos, etc). You just need to provide your own black slacks (or skirts if you prefer) and black shoes. See more info HERE

Food Stamps:

Your stipend is not included in SNAP eligibility. We encourage all AmeriCorps Members to apply for food stamps through the local DHS office. We can provide a personalized employment letter to support your application.

Loan forbearance and interest accrual payments (these benefits will be accessed independently through your MyAmeriCorps portal, they are personal to you and not managed by City Year Chicago directly) Learn more HERE
